About Me

My name is Carly Russell, and I am a student at Southern Connecticut State University. I am majoring in communication and media studies, with a journalism minor. I am set to graduate in May of 2025.

I spent my freshman year at Endicott College, majoring in Digital Media Journalism, before I decided to transfer to SCSU. As I always say, I am driven to tell meaningful and important stories in a new, impactful, and engaging way. As a current and future content creator, it is my job to engage my audience and ensure that messages and stories are told truthfully, and with purpose.

After my career here at SCSU, I hope to create content that not only interests, but educates and motivates audiences. I want to take digital storytelling, whether it be photography, film, or any kind of multi-media creation, and use it to inspire positivity, growth and change in both individuals and society.

I am especially interested in a career in sports. Whether it be in live broadcasting and coverage of professional sporting events, or in filming and photographing content for social media or promotional content.
